Day 3 - Real World AUs

I have a deep affinity for real world AUs; the more mundane, the better. I've always thought they're something that popslash does particularly well.

pensnest has already recced this one, but I'm not letting that stop me! Everyone will just have to read it twice, I guess. :) It's wonderful; easily the best story about JC owning a yarn store that I've ever read. The plot is a little Seinfeldian, in that a lot happens without very much seeming to happen at all - there's a loose narrative about all the small business owners in the neighborhood banding together in the face of urban renewal, but the real star of the show is AJ and his lethal, irrestible allure.

JC, Joey and Justin (and Cameron) are soap opera stars! Justin falls head over heels in love with Joey, but he's too shy to say anything! Chris decides to exploit their sexual chemistry for higher ratings! It's a lot of fun, trust me.

Oh, that yarn story. My mom is a knitter, has been since I can remember, so yarn is literally a warm fuzzy for me. But AJ in this? Yes. I want to go start skateboarding just to frequent his shop.
