I was just reading an article about racism in which the author made liberal use of the abbreviation "POC" and, yeah. It took me a full three quarters of a page to realize she *was not* talking about PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN.

Oy.

But at least I still have my looks to fall back on, right? RIGHT? *weeps piteously as the crickets start chirping*

God. I think the worst part is that I had ALMOST managed to rationalize it to myself (because pirates! Multicultural ones, sailing the seven seas, robbing and raping and...promoting racial tolerance?) before I figured out my mistake.

Like I said up above--oy. :)
