brandywine28Christmas isn't Christmas without popslash, and if you disagree, 1. you're wrong and 2. you deserve to be publicly whipped in the town square.
I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, y'all, but it's my thesis statement and I'm sticking to it.
So. I was working on a long-ish AU, aiming for a Christmas Day posting date, when everything just went to hell. The outline kept growing and growing, and then I got sick right after Thanksgiving and lost myself a week's worth of writing time and -- gah. It was never gonna happen.
(Also, I gave myself a couple of legit panic attacks, 'cos this was my first time writing a disabled character and I convinced myself so thoroughly that I was screwing it up and everyone was gonna hate me for it that, well. I needed a break from the whole thing. I really did.)
Anyway.pensnest chose that exact moment to open up prompts at Crack Sparkle Pop and I jumped on the distraction and produced all of these

little
Trickyficlets.
Because I go overboard. That's what I do. And if I hadn't posted anything this year, it would've been my first popslash-less holiday season in a very long time! I wasn't okay with that!
They're all Chris/Lance and they're all cozy, married people fluff, because Pen likes domestic!Trickyfish and I like Pen. Meanwhile, I've reclassified the current WIP. It'll be a Mid-Winter 2020 fic. Jebus willing.
So that's that. Mark my words, 2019 will go down as the Year of the Trickyficlet!

I will admit, I *did* rush just a little, because I really wanted at least one thing posted before 2019 ended. I guess I could've backdated everything, but that would've been cheating, and apparently fandom is the one area of life in which I am honorable and righteous. :)
