brandywine28Today I found out that a girl I work with is in a green card marriage. Now, that alone wasn't enough to shock me; in fact, I was only half listening 'til she started going on and on about how this guy is so grateful for her "help" that he pays her ENTIRE rent each month, plus all her utilities. (No, they don't live together.) It's a pricey apartment, too - it's in one of those super-gentrified Brooklyn neighborhoods I can never remember the name of.
So the question is this: what does it say about me that I am ever so slightly jealous of this arrangement? Is it a natural reaction, given the current piss-poor economy and the bloodbath that is the NYC real estate market? Or do I have some hidden Floozy Potential? Hm.
