to caper nimbly in a lady's chamber
Oct. 15th, 2013 07:23 pmMy mother was just helping me unload groceries when she turned to me and, completely out of the blue -- I can't stress that enough -- asked "Was Richard III a fruit?"
Best non sequitur ever? I think maybe, yes.
Just to clarify: the word "fruit" wasn't intended as a slur. I hate to break out the Paula Deen defense (and how), but...it applies? *shrugs* She's a New Yorker of a certain age! She grew up in Hollis, for Christ's sake! She can't help it! She has nothing but love for the gays. Nor does she harbor hatred toward any dead English kings. I promise. :)
